Ladonna Cherell Yearout-Patton

Photography has been an interest and passion of mine since childhood. I grew up in the quaint town of Floyd, Virginia where I still reside with my wonderful, supportive husband. My husband and best friend, Elliot (who ironically does not enjoy getting his picture taken), has supported, encouraged and been extremely patient as my hobby is now developing into a business.

My Experience
In 2006, I began working in a local studio as a lighting assistant for a photographer whom I had met at a family member’s wedding. During this time I was able to gain experience working alongside them as well as with my mother, who worked at the studio, as a “second photographer” at weddings and other small events in the New River Valley, Roanoke and even New York City.

I eventually ventured out on my own after purchasing my first camera from a photographer, my friend, the late Bob Mullar. Amongst my “day jobs” as a local Restaurant Manager and Licensed Practical Nurse I began taking pictures for family and friends of their kids, pets and landscapes. Nowadays as time for my other jobs diminish and my photography business succeeds my goal is to improve my skill and photography while doing what I can to make my clients happy.
